Just another rhyme
Every once in a while
I try and write a rhyme
Something I can quote when I'm older
Something nice that I can call mine
Should it be inspiring
perhaps motivating
Or could it be about emotions,
Sadness, happiness, maybe love
I wonder what to write,
Words with a bit of bite
Words I can proudly recall
Even when I've lost my might
And I realize it doesn't matter
Because just like my mortal soul
it's unlikely my words will survive
the ultimate test, the test of time
I doubt if a century from now,
Kids will read my words in a class
Wonder why they need to know a garbage rhyme
Of some lonely soul writing about his trashy life
But still, every once in a while
I try and write a rhyme
Something I can quote when I'm older
Something nice that I can call mine
I try and write a rhyme
Something I can quote when I'm older
Something nice that I can call mine
Should it be inspiring
perhaps motivating
Or could it be about emotions,
Sadness, happiness, maybe love
I wonder what to write,
Words with a bit of bite
Words I can proudly recall
Even when I've lost my might
And I realize it doesn't matter
Because just like my mortal soul
it's unlikely my words will survive
the ultimate test, the test of time
I doubt if a century from now,
Kids will read my words in a class
Wonder why they need to know a garbage rhyme
Of some lonely soul writing about his trashy life
But still, every once in a while
I try and write a rhyme
Something I can quote when I'm older
Something nice that I can call mine
