Dreams Money can buy

There are a lot of dreams that money can buy
Starting from the basic means needed to survive
From Food, Clothing, and a roof over the head
All the way to Corporate seats at Wimbledon live

We all come into the world naked,
Without choosing our passport, religion & name
It’s here that we learn to shame and be ashamed
For these things we didn’t pick, we give and take the blame

And even much more, for the things we can choose
The career, the lover, or the city we pick
If we do it for ourselves,
We’re nothing but a selfish prick

But if there’s one number that silences it all,
It’s the one that comes after the dollar sign
Nobody questions the things we didn’t choose
When they’re busy counting the digits blind

Nobody even judges the choices you made
The career, the lover, or the city you picked
When every penny is, with interest repaid
Until then, it’s here where we shame and be ashamed

There are indeed a lot of dreams money can buy
Starting from the basic means needed to survive
From Food, Clothing, and a roof over the head
To being accepted for who we are as a human with a head.
