Be it my faults, or maybe you didn't mean to stay
Whatever it may be, just one thing I need to say
There was a time when your smile melted me away

We may have met in college, maybe a bar
Maybe on a trip, perhaps on a plane flying away
There was a time when your text was all I craved
This is to the ones that got away

I'm not sure if I can say I loved you
I don't expect any such words to be sent my way
In a parallel universe, something more probably happened
And sometimes I do wonder about it, I must say

Oh what it could've been, my mind wanders away
If I hadn't been so cagey, cold and afraid
If my mind could not be scared of all the ways it'll fail
And focus on cherishing the time I had to give away

Maybe it would've still ended up in a heartbreak
Maybe we'd be planning ring ceremonies away
Maybe it was meant to be, just plain and simple
Guess we'll never find that out anymore anyway

A man's eyes wander aimlessly on any given day
But you were the one who captured my brain away
To you, all I have to say is, I do wonder sometimes,
What if I opened up, what if I didn't let you slip away

Take it as my apology, if I ever hurt you in a way
