Fantasy Premier League 2016-17: Players to watch out for 3

Premier League has already started and many of you would be beginning to have a fair idea of players that are worth buying or selling. I wanted to finish this series before the season started but I've been super busy off late (saving those things for another day).

So, I'm going to make a short post on a few midfielders which I think are going to make a huge impact in the season. I'll try to talk about new signings or transfers only. I won't be mentioning players like Eden Hazard and Coutinho who are showing promising signs after their Gameweek 1 performance.

Sadio Mané

He is definitely the player who is expected to make a big impact this season. He was splendid for Southampton last season. He has shown tremendous performances in pre-season and scored an amazing goal against Arsenal in the Premier League opener. He has suffered a minor shoulder injury and may miss out against Burnley but I expect him to be back by the week after that. He is definitely someone you should consider to keep in your team or at least in your watchlist till he recovers.

Nolito

While the Spanish footballer made little impact in City's Premier League opener, he showed amazing skill during the Champion's league play off last week. I would certainly watch him over the next few weeks. Once he settles down, he could be one major impact player in City's run to the title this season. He scored 2 against Stoke as well in a 4-1 win. He is definitely worth keeping in your ranks.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

This post wouldn't be considered complete if I don't mention the super hyped homecoming of Pogba from Juventus. He certainly made quite an impact against Southampton in his first game for United. However, I feel he is quite overpriced for the kind of role he will be playing in Mourinho's squad. He is priced at £8.5 and was largely seen in the role of holding midfielder. Although he did attack on a number of occasions and came close to scoring a header as well. Despite that, I don't see him worth the money at the moment. Despite that, he is definitely someone I would keep a close eye on. He would've made it to nearly every half decent FPL manager's squad if he would've been at £7-7.5.

Redmond (Southampton)

Redmond scored on the opening weekend against Watford and he was equally impressive, if not fruitful, against Manchester United last night. He did create some very good chances for the visitors. Starting from week 8, Southampton have a fairly manageable draw for the next 10 weeks. I would recommend tracking his progress till then and buying if he is consistent. He has already gained a point in his price (costs £6.1 now). Get him in your squad by Gameweek 8 and below £6.3 and you will have a very good low cost, his returns midfielder for a considerably long spell of the season.

Other key players

I wanted to write about a lot of other players but decided against it. Andre Ayew (West Ham United) was one of them but he is out on injury. Wijnaldum for Liverpool but then I don't want to sound too biased towards Liverpool (which I am). I also wanted to write about Yannick Bolasie (Everton) and Mkhitaryan (Manchester United) but both of them haven't gotten any considerable playing time till now. Apart from that, there are plenty of key players to consider who have already been in the Premier League. Premier League is truly blessed in this department this season.

With Pep and Mourinho at the Manchester clubs, Conte at Chelsea and Klopp at Livepool, all eyes are on Premier League this season. In addition, a number of mid-table teams have also raised their games, brought in new management and added quality players to their ranks. It's going to be a memorable season for sure.
